First year enrollment up 20 per cent at Ontario colleges

More Ontario students are choosing to go to college. The province's colleges recorded their highest ever first-year enrolment this fall.
Colleges Ontario says first-year enrollment is up more than 20 per cent from five years ago. More than 116,000 first-year college students started full-time classes this fall.
Linda Franklin, president and CEO of Colleges Ontario, says everyone is worried about getting a good job in this economy.
The organization released statistics that show even during the recession, more than 83 per cent of college graduates were hired within six months of graduating.
